Special check-in instructions
Arrival & transfers. W Maldives is reached by seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport. Guests should contact the resort in advance to arrange seaplane transfers and provide flight details. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in, and should inform the property in advance of their expected arrival time.

Fees
Taxes & service charges: Resort stays in the Maldives are generally subject to a 10% service charge and Tourism Goods & Services Tax (TGST). For tourism-sector services such as accommodation, transfers, dining and most extras, TGST is currently 17% following the nationwide increase effective in 2025. Unless clearly shown as inclusive or net, service charge and TGST are added to the final bill.
Green Tax: For resorts and tourist vessels, the Maldives Green Tax is generally USD 12 per person per night for guests aged 2 years and above. Children under 2 years old are exempt. This charge is usually collected by the resort and applies to each payable night of stay.
Mandatory transfers: Resort stays may require a compulsory transfer from Velana International Airport by speedboat, seaplane or domestic flight plus speedboat, depending on the atoll and the resort’s transfer policy. The applicable transfer charge, if not already included in your booked package, is confirmed in your quotation and booking confirmation.
Optional extras
Optional extras: Additional charges may apply for premium dining, wines and spirits, spa treatments, wellness sessions, diving, private excursions, photography, celebration setups, laundry and other personalised services. Any service not clearly listed as included in your confirmed package is normally charged as an extra by the resort.
Special arrangements: Transfer upgrades, private dining, room-category upgrades and tailored experiences may be arranged on request and are charged separately, subject to availability.
You need to know
Check-in / check-out: Standard check-in is usually from 14:00 and check-out by 12:00 noon, unless your confirmation states otherwise. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
Traveller Declaration: International travellers to the Maldives are generally required to complete the Maldives Traveller Declaration (IMUGA) within 96 hours before arrival. A valid passport and proof of onward travel are required for entry.
Transfer planning: Flight details should be shared in advance so the resort can coordinate arrival and departure transfers smoothly. If a seaplane or domestic-air component applies, schedules may depend on daylight operating windows, baggage limits and weather conditions.
