The binding terms for payment schedules, cancellation, taxes and compulsory transfer charges are those stated on the booking confirmation.

Children & extra beds. Children are generally welcome. Baby cots/cribs and extra beds may be available on request, subject to availability and villa occupancy limits. Additional charges may apply for extra guests or bedding.

The property may pre‑authorise the credit card prior to arrival and the same card used for booking may be required at check‑in. Special check-in instructions
Arrival instructions. Guests should send their international flight details to the resort in advance so that airport assistance and transfer arrangements can be organised. Transfers may involve seaplane or domestic flight followed by speedboat depending on arrival schedule. Guests must present a valid passport or government‑issued ID at check‑in.

Fees
Taxes & service charges: Stays in the Maldives are subject to a 10% service charge and Tourism Goods & Services Tax (TGST). For tourism services such as accommodation, meal plans, transfers and most extras, TGST is currently 17% following the nationwide increase effective in 2025. Unless clearly stated as inclusive or net, service charge and TGST are added to your final bill.
Green Tax: The Maldives levies a Green Tax on overnight guests at resorts and tourist vessels. The current rate is USD 12 per person per night for guests aged 2 years and above; children under 2 years are exempt. Green Tax is collected by the resort and applies to each payable night of your stay.
Mandatory transfers: Resort stays typically require a compulsory transfer (speedboat, seaplane, or domestic flight + speedboat depending on the atoll). Transfer fees are charged per person and will be confirmed in your quotation and booking confirmation.
Optional extras
Optional extras: Additional charges may apply for meal plan upgrades, premium beverages, specialty dining, spa treatments, diving, motorised water sports, private excursions, photography services, laundry and other personalised experiences. Any service not listed as included in your confirmed rate or package will normally be charged as an extra by the resort.
Festive supplements: If your stay includes 24 Dec and/or 31 Dec, many resorts apply compulsory gala dinner supplements. These vary by year and will be shown on your confirmation when applicable.

Traveller Declaration: All international travelers must complete the Maldives Traveller Declaration (IMUGA) online within 96 hours before arrival. A valid passport and proof of onward travel are required for entry.
Transfer planning: If your transfer is by seaplane, it operates only in daylight hours and has baggage limits; domestic flights and speedboats also depend on weather and operational schedules. Provide your flight details in advance so the resort can coordinate your transfer smoothly.

Local rules & customs: Maldivian law prohibits importing alcohol into the country, and any alcohol found in luggage may be confiscated on arrival. Resorts and licensed tourist vessels may serve alcohol, while local-island guesthouses generally cannot unless specially licensed.
Payments: Most resorts accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and often American Express). A credit card pre-authorisation or cash deposit may be required at check-in for incidental expenses.
Policy changes: Government tax rates, Green Tax and resort-level fees may change without prior notice. The final payable amount is based on your confirmed booking and the resort’s invoice at check-out.
