Reservation

Reservation and payment. The exact cancellation and payment conditions for your stay at VARU by Atmosphere are detailed on your official booking confirmation or voucher issued by the resort or your travel provider, and the resort notes that these terms are not changed except in cases of force majeure agreed by both sides. Payment is typically completed in advance or at check-in using a secure payment link, bank transfer or a signed credit card authorisation form provided by the resort; the property does not charge your card without a signed authorisation.

Currency and notes. In line with local banking regulations, VARU by Atmosphere is unable to accept U.S. dollar banknotes issued before the 2013 series. A valid passport and a credit card, debit card or cash deposit are normally required at check-in to cover incidentals, government taxes, service charges and any compulsory festive supplements such as Christmas or New Year gala dinners that may apply to certain dates and rate plans.

Early check-out and late check-out. The resort reserves the right to charge an early departure fee if you check out before the originally booked departure date. Late check-out is subject to request and availability on the day of departure and may incur additional charges.

Official communication. For your security, the resort states that official emails will only be sent from its authorised @varu-atmosphere.com domains and that it will not ask you to share payment details or take payment-related actions over the telephone without written confirmation. Guests are advised to ignore and report any communication that appears inconsistent with these guidelines.

Cancellation

Cancellation and prepayment. Cancellation, prepayment and modification conditions depend on your chosen room type, travel dates and booking channel. Some rate plans allow free cancellation up to a specified deadline before arrival, while promotional or peak-season offers may be fully non-refundable and require full prepayment at the time of booking. Always check the exact policy shown with your selected rate on the booking page or confirmation before finalising your reservation.

No-show and early departure. If you cancel late, do not arrive on the scheduled date, or depart earlier than booked, charges will follow the no-show and early-departure rules of your specific rate plan as stated on your confirmation. For precise terms, please refer to your booking documents or contact the resort or your travel provider directly.

Children and extra beds

Children. Children of any age are welcome at VARU by Atmosphere. Children up to and including 4 years old can stay free of charge when sharing an existing bed with parents or guardians. Children from 5 to 11 years old staying in existing beds are usually charged an additional nightly supplement per child, collected directly at the resort.

Extra beds and cots. At present, no additional cots or rollaway beds are listed as available to add to the rooms. Any child or extra-person supplements are not automatically included in the total price and must be paid separately during the stay.

Childcare and kids’ facilities. The resort offers a complimentary kids’ club, as well as supervised childcare and babysitting services for an extra charge, together with a range of family-friendly activities and play facilities.

Special check-in instructions

Speedboat transfer required. Guests must travel between Malé International Airport (Velana) and VARU by Atmosphere by shared speedboat. Transfers are arranged by the resort and are included in the all-inclusive plan.

Pre-arrival details. Guests must contact the resort at least 72 hours before arrival using the contact details on the booking confirmation to share flight information and confirm speedboat transfers. Return transfers to Malé International Airport should also be booked in advance; the resort asks that final departure flight details are provided at least 7 days before departure. Front-desk staff will greet guests on arrival and the resort does not offer after-hours check-in. A valid passport and a credit card, debit card or cash deposit are required at check-in.

Fees

Tourism Green Tax of USD 12.00 per person, per night is imposed on stays at Maldivian resorts and is charged in addition to the villa rate, in line with current government regulations.

Many all inclusive offers show this Green Tax and other compulsory charges already built into the total price, but in some cases specific taxes or surcharges may still be collected directly at the property.

VARU by Atmosphere operates as a premium all inclusive resort and most packages include mandatory roundtrip speedboat transfers between Velana International Airport and the island in the rate, rather than charging separately at check in or check out.

Guests are required to share their international flight details with the resort in advance so that the compulsory speedboat transfers can be arranged in time for arrival and departure.

For stays that include 24 December (Christmas Eve), a mandatory gala dinner is applied for all guests, and on most booking sites the cost of this dinner is already included in the total price shown for those dates.

For stays that include 31 December (New Year’s Eve), a mandatory gala dinner supplement is also applied and is normally built into the total room price for those nights for all registered guests.

Resort prices in the Maldives are typically subject to a 10% service charge and around 16% Goods and Services Tax (GST), which may either be itemised separately or included in the net package price depending on your offer.

All compulsory charges, including Green Tax, service charges, transfers and festive supplements, are set by the resort and authorities and may change without prior notice, so guests should always check the latest details on their confirmation before travelling.

Optional extras

Airport transfers are often included in the VARU Plan all inclusive package, but some rate plans or third party promotions may treat transfers as an optional extra; if so, the resort or your travel provider will confirm the applicable charge before you travel.

Extra person surcharges can apply when the number of guests exceeds the standard occupancy of the selected villa, particularly when rollaway or extra beds are requested for an additional adult or older child.

Rollaway or extra beds, when available, may be charged per night according to season, villa category and age of the extra guest, even when younger children are otherwise allowed to stay free using existing bedding.

Spa treatments, motorised water sports, scuba diving, selected premium beverages, à la carte or private dining, excursions and photo sessions are not normally included in the basic all inclusive inclusions unless specifically stated and are charged as used.

Some promotional packages may include additional experiences, complimentary excursions or transfer discounts, while others charge these items separately, so inclusions can differ significantly between offers.

Early check in and late check out may sometimes be arranged for an extra fee and remain strictly subject to availability at the time you arrive or depart.

As an island resort reached only by boat, many areas feature sandy paths, boardwalks, steps, decks and open waterfront spaces, which may not be suitable for unsupervised young children or guests with significant mobility challenges.

This resort does not have elevators, and access to some villas, restaurants and leisure facilities involves stairs, boardwalks or uneven surfaces.

Reservations are required for massage services and spa treatments at the ELENA Spa, and guests are encouraged to secure preferred times before arrival or early in their stay, especially during busy periods and festive seasons.
