Pets. Pets are not permitted at Velaa Private Island Maldives. The resort’s current policies specify that pets cannot be accommodated in villas, residences or shared areas. Guests who need to travel with an assistance or service animal should contact the resort’s reservations team prior to confirming a booking to obtain the latest information and to check whether any exceptions can be considered.

Reservation
Reservation deposit and balance payment. For most stays at Velaa Private Island Maldives, a deposit is required in order to confirm your reservation. Many contracts and offers specify that a portion of the total stay amount (for example around 25%) is payable at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due before arrival by the deadline indicated on your pro-forma invoice or confirmation. Deposits and balances are typically payable by Visa, Mastercard or bank transfer through the arranging agency or the resort’s reservations team.
Security deposit and incidentals. In addition to the room charges and taxes, the resort or its booking partners may require a substantial refundable security deposit at check-in to cover incidentals, extra services and any damages. The amount and method of authorisation can vary depending on the length of stay, villa category and channel through which you book; details are usually outlined on your confirmation or shown in the property rules section of the booking page.
Cancellation, amendments and no-show. Cancellation and change conditions at Velaa Private Island depend on the season, villa or residence type and the rate or package selected. Some promotional, festive season or Early Bird offers may be fully non-refundable with a 100% cancellation fee once booked or from a set number of days before arrival, while more flexible rates may allow changes or free cancellation up to a specified deadline. No-shows, late amendments and early departures can incur penalties in line with the terms of your chosen rate plan. The precise policy for your stay will always appear with the rate description at the time of booking and in your confirmation documents.
Early check-in and late check-out. Standard check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 12:00. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may be charged as additional day use or as an extra night, with some partners indicating that use of the villa between midday and early evening can be charged at around 50% of the nightly rate and later departures at up to 100% of the nightly rate. Guests who require guaranteed early arrival or late departure are encouraged to pre-book an extra night.
Cancellation
Cancellation and prepayment. Cancellation, amendment and prepayment conditions at Velaa Private Island Maldives vary according to villa or residence type, travel dates, length of stay and the rate or package selected. Flexible rate plans may allow free cancellation up to a specified deadline before arrival, whereas advance purchase, Early Bird and special promotional offers can require full or partial prepayment and may carry a 100% cancellation fee once booked or after a certain cut-off date. Guests should always review the exact policy shown with their chosen rate on the booking page and in the confirmation email before finalising a reservation.
No-show, early departure and changes. If you do not arrive on the scheduled check-in date, depart earlier than planned or make late changes to your booking, no-show or early-departure fees may apply in line with the terms of the booked rate. Some promotional offers do not permit date, name or room-type changes once confirmed. Children and extra beds
Children. Children of all ages are welcome at Velaa Private Island Maldives. Infants and toddlers (typically up to about 3–4 years old) can usually stay free of charge when sharing existing bedding with parents or when using a complimentary baby cot, subject to availability. On many contracts and rate plans, bookings that include children are based on sharing parents’ bedding unless an extra bed is explicitly included.
Extra beds and supplements. Selected villa and residence categories may allow one extra bed per unit for older children or additional guests, subject to maximum occupancy. Extra beds and child or adult supplements are charged per person per night and are not normally included in the initial total price shown when booking; these amounts are usually paid separately at the resort. Availability of extra beds and the exact supplements can vary by travel dates, villa type and rate plan, so guests should always check the policy attached to their chosen offer or consult their travel provider.
Kids’ facilities and childcare. The resort offers a children’s pool, kids’ club and play area, together with babysitting and supervised childcare services for an additional charge. Some family activities and childcare services may require advance reservations. Special check-in instructions
Resort transfer required. Velaa Private Island Maldives is only accessible by resort-arranged transfers. Most guests travel by shared or private seaplane between Velana International Airport (Malé) and the island, with a flight time of around 45 minutes. For private jet arrivals at Maafaru International Airport, onward transfers to Velaa are by luxury yacht (about 35 minutes) or by seaplane (around 7 minutes), arranged by the resort or its partners.
Pre-arrival flight details. All arrival and departure transfers must be booked through Velaa Private Island. To secure the best possible connections, guests are requested to send their international flight details to the reservations team at least 14 days before arrival. Seaplane services operate only during daylight hours (approximately 06:00–17:00). If your international flight arrives in Malé after around 15:30 or departs before about 09:00, an overnight stay in Malé or at another nearby hotel may be required before or after your stay.
Baggage allowance and greeting. The standard seaplane baggage allowance is usually around 20 kg of checked luggage and 5 kg of hand luggage per person; excess baggage is chargeable by the airline and may be transported on a later flight, subject to space. On arrival in Malé, resort representatives or handling agents meet guests, assist with seaplane check-in and escort them to the seaplane terminal or lounge. An optional CIP meet-and-greet service with immigration assistance and lounge access at Velana International Airport may also be arranged at an additional charge. A valid passport and a credit card, debit card or cash deposit are required at check-in at the resort.

Fees
Mandatory taxes and service charges: Nightly villa rates, seaplane transfers and most on-island purchases are subject to a compulsory service charge and government tourism taxes that together typically add around 25–30 percent on top of base prices, with exact percentages determined by current Maldivian regulations and the conditions of your confirmed rate plan.
Green tax: A mandatory green tax of approximately USD 6 per person per night is collected by the resort on behalf of the Maldivian government and is normally not charged for infants under 2 years old, although final application of this tax is always as advised in your reservation documents.
Seaplane transfers: Roundtrip seaplane transfers between Malé and Velaa Private Island are compulsory and charged in addition to villa rates, with current partner information indicating example shared seaplane prices of about USD 1,353 per adult and USD 676 per child aged 2 to 11 years for a return journey, with exact charges, inclusions and any applicable taxes confirmed directly by the resort for your travel dates.
Festive gala dinners: Guests staying over key festive dates are subject to compulsory gala dinner supplements, with current sample partner information showing approximate surcharges of USD 683 per adult and USD 342 per child aged 4 to 11 years for the Christmas Eve dinner, around USD 1,365 per adult and USD 683 per child for the New Year’s Eve dinner, and about USD 447 per adult and USD 224 per child for the New Year’s Day dinner, although the resort may update these amounts and will confirm the applicable rates for your stay.
Other mandatory charges: Depending on the offer and season, additional compulsory charges such as minimum stay surcharges, special event supplements or private charter transfer top ups may apply and will be listed in your confirmation and payable directly to the resort at check in or check out.
Optional extras
Private transfer upgrades: Private or semi-private seaplane transfers, luxury yacht transfers and other bespoke arrival or departure arrangements can be organised on request and are charged separately at premium rates rather than being included in standard villa prices.
Golf, spa and wellness: Green fees at the championship golf course, private golf tuition, spa treatments, medi-spa programs and personalised wellness consultations are charged separately from standard villa rates and meal plans unless explicitly included in a special package.
Water sports and excursions: Motorised water sports, private yacht cruises, big-game or sunset fishing trips, diving excursions, private sandbank picnics and other curated experiences are available for an additional fee, with pricing varying by duration, equipment, destination and number of participants.
Dining upgrades and beverages: À la carte dining in specialty restaurants, dégustation menus, in-villa private dining experiences, premium imported beverages, champagne and rare wines are treated as optional extras where they fall outside any half board, full board or all-inclusive plan you may have purchased.
Childcare and babysitting: Access to the kids club is generally complimentary during regular opening hours, but private babysitting, extended evening supervision and bespoke children’s programs are charged per hour or per session according to the resort’s current childcare tariff.
You need to know
Access by seaplane only: Velaa Private Island is accessible only by seaplane from Malé with a flight time of approximately 45 minutes and no speedboat option, so your international arrival and departure times must be planned around daylight seaplane operating hours.
Transfer arrangements: The resort will arrange your seaplane transfers using your international flight details, and exact seaplane schedules are typically confirmed closer to arrival and may be adjusted on the day in response to air traffic or weather conditions.
Seasonal operations: Current partner information indicates that the resort usually closes for maintenance in July, and any exact closure dates or additional maintenance periods are determined by the resort and may change from year to year.
Deposit and payment conditions: As an ultra-luxury private island, the property often applies stricter payment and cancellation conditions than standard hotels, including non-refundable deposits or full prepayment for selected villa categories, festive seasons and promotional offers, so it is important to review the terms of your chosen rate carefully before confirming.
Family stays and age policies: Children are welcome on the island but specific age rules can apply for overwater villas, private pools and certain activities, and younger guests must always be supervised by an adult around pools, decks, jetties and in the ocean in accordance with the resort’s safety guidelines.

Guest access and privacy: In line with typical private-island practice the resort may restrict access to villas and island facilities to registered guests only, so any outside visitors or day guests should be arranged directly with resort management in advance and may be subject to additional conditions or fees.
No pets or service animals: Current partner policy information states that pets and service animals are not allowed at this property, in keeping with standard Maldivian resort and local biosecurity regulations.
Reservations for spa and key activities: Reservations are required for massage services, spa treatments, selected wellness programs, golf tee times and certain dining experiences, so advance booking is strongly recommended especially during high and festive seasons.
