Reservation guarantee and deposits. Reservations for Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa must be guaranteed with a valid credit card or advance payment made through the resort, its official website or an authorised travel partner. Depending on the season, length of stay and rate plan, a non‑refundable deposit may be charged at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due a set number of days before arrival. No-show, early departure and peak periods. Children and extra beds
Children. Children of all ages are welcome at Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa, but the child policy differs by villa category. Children are accommodated in the Garden Rooms and Beach Villas, while the Jacuzzi Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Water Villas are reserved for adults only (guests aged 18 years and above). For pricing purposes, most contracts treat guests aged 12 years and over as adults.
Cots, extra beds and occupancy. Many room types are configured for two adults, with the possibility in selected categories to add a baby cot for an infant or an extra bed for a child or third adult, subject to the maximum occupancy of the villa and availability. Infants typically pay a small nightly fee for a cot, while children and additional adults using extra beds are charged per person per night. Supplements for cots and extra beds are not usually included in the room rate and are payable directly at the resort, along with any applicable taxes and Green Tax.
Transfers and child rates. Seaplane transfers and certain special meals or festive events carry separate child and adult rates. In many cases, children aged 2–11.99 years receive a reduced seaplane transfer rate (often around 50% of the adult fare), infants under 2 years travel free when sharing a seat with a parent, and guests aged 12 and above pay the full adult transfer rate. Special check-in instructions
Seaplane transfer required. Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa is reached exclusively by resort-arranged seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport (Malé). After clearing Immigration and Customs, guests proceed to the Crown & Champa Resorts counter B9 in the arrival hall, where resort representatives assist with check-in and the 10-minute shuttle to the Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) seaplane terminal. From there, the scenic seaplane flight to Vilamendhoo takes around 25 minutes.
Operating hours and flight details. Seaplane services operate only during daylight hours, typically between early morning and late afternoon. Guests whose international flights arrive late in the day (usually after around 15:00) or depart very early in the morning may need to overnight in Malé or at an airport hotel, as seaplanes do not operate at night. To secure seats, the resort requests that complete international arrival and departure flight details are provided at least 72 hours before arrival; bookings made closer to arrival are subject to availability of seaplane seats.
Luggage allowance and transfer charges. Standard seaplane baggage allowance is usually around 20 kg of checked luggage plus 5 kg of hand luggage per person. Excess baggage is subject to airline surcharges and may be carried on a later flight, depending on space. Unless clearly indicated in your package, roundtrip seaplane transfers are charged in addition to the room rate, with child discounts generally applying for guests aged 2–11.99 years and infants under 2 years typically travelling free of charge when seated on a parent’s lap.
Check-in formalities. Standard check-in time is from 14:00, and check-out is by 12:00 noon. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to request, availability and additional charges. Guests staying over 24 December (Christmas Eve) and 31 December (New Year’s Eve) are subject to compulsory festive gala dinner supplements, with recent sample information indicating approximate charges from about USD 135 per adult and USD 0 per eligible child on Christmas Eve and around USD 185 per adult and USD 97.50 per child on New Year’s Eve, although precise amounts, age bands and inclusions are set directly by the resort for each season.

Optional extras
Beyond the compulsory items, you can expect extra charges for à la carte meals, special menu items, premium imported beverages, in villa dining and private dining experiences such as beach dinners or celebration set ups that go beyond what your meal plan or all inclusive package normally covers.
Spa and wellness services at Duniye Spa including massages, body treatments, facials and beauty services are typically priced per treatment and added to your room bill, and advance reservations are strongly recommended for popular time slots.
Motorised water sports such as jet skiing, water skiing and wakeboarding, specialist snorkelling or dive excursions, sunset cruises, fishing trips and visits to nearby islands are usually offered as optional paid activities that are not included in the basic room rate.
Although roundtrip seaplane transfers are mandatory for overnight stays, some partners list these charges in an “optional extras” section together with approximate example tariffs, and additional costs may apply if you request private seaplane charters, special timing outside the regular operating window or excess luggage handling.

This resort is spread across a natural island with sandy paths and does not have lifts or elevators, so guests with limited mobility should request a more accessible villa location in advance and be prepared for uneven surfaces and outdoor walkways.
Pool access is typically available only during set hours (for example roughly from 06:00 to 20:00 each day), and some pool areas may have minimum age requirements or be reserved exclusively for adults in order to preserve a quiet atmosphere.
