Description

“A change is as good as a rest.”
Imagine a white yacht, the azure ocean, and the paradise Maldives.

This is what a dream voyage on ALICE looks like. Let us tell you who is ALICE!

We have named our yacht after the legendary Smokie song “Living Next Door to Alice”. However, if you have any associations with the heroine of Lewis Carroll, you are right, too!

Welcome to the “Wonderland” – aboard a brand-new four deck yacht. An underwater safari with incredible views of the Maldives is ahead of you. This adventure is suitable for both beginners and professionals.

The yacht is offered for a full charter, with a crew. Holidays on ALICE are equally good for those who have come to the Maldives for the first time, and for those who have already had a chance to fall in love with this paradise. Charter on ALICE is an opportunity to discover new verges of the picturesque archipelago – to admire its islands and beaches – every day.

The boat was floated out at the end of 2019, and the last redecoration was carried out in the first quarter of 2020. We chose to design the yacht in eco-style and dedicated a lot of time for every detail. Whatever you touch, whatever you wish, you will be delighted at how well everything is thought out here.

Dining

Our chef is from Thailand. He is skilled in the art of fusion cuisine, which combines the best Pan-Asian and international gastronomic traditions. If you prefer a la carte menu, we will be able to arrange it. There is everything you need to lay the table in style on the yacht. Your voyage should be exceptional on every side, including the gastronomic one. The ALICE crew has taken a top-class training course of the International Butler Service in South Africa.

If you adhere to any restrictions in the menu, we will take this into account. We will organize any dietary pattern, from a gluten-free diet to pescetarianism.

Experiences

The paradise Maldives give you an unforgettable experience – you can walk with arms entwined along deserted beaches, have lunch at seaside restaurants and dinner on a paradise like island. You will remember amazing sunsets painted with tropical colors, and the shoreless sea promising endless happiness for a lifetime.

Important information

Fees

Taxes & Green Tax. Maldives liveaboards are subject to Tourism Goods & Services Tax (TGST) on tourism services, currently 17%, plus a government Green Tax of USD 12 per person per night on tourist vessels (children under two years old are presently exempt). Current Alice listings and the official yacht website state that all taxes are already included in the published charter price, so you should not normally see TGST or Green Tax added again on top of your confirmed cruise rate. Because tax rules and inclusions can change, always rely on the latest offer, invoice and charter contract for the exact breakdown.

Charter fee & APA. Yacht‑charter partners typically show a base charter fee for Alice (per day or per cruise) plus a mandatory 10% Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA). The charter fee generally covers use of the yacht, crew, many onboard services and fuel for a standard itinerary, while the APA functions as an onboard expense account to pay for variable items such as premium drinks, special provisioning, extra fuel or local island and port fees. What is covered by the charter fee versus the APA, and how any unused APA is handled at the end of the cruise, is defined in your individual charter documentation.

Currency, payments & gratuities. Quotes for Alice are usually issued in US dollars and paid via your chosen charter broker or agent under their booking and cancellation terms. Bank fees, currency conversion charges and payment schedules (deposit and balance due dates) are set by your contract. Crew gratuities are not included; tipping is voluntary, but in the yacht‑charter industry a guideline of around 5–10% of the charter fee is often suggested, to be adjusted according to local recommendations and your level of satisfaction.

Optional extras

What is typically included. Current partner listings for Alice indicate that the charter rate usually includes full‑board dining (breakfast, lunch and dinner), tea and coffee and most non‑alcoholic refreshments, standard scuba diving with guide and general equipment, daily housekeeping and end‑of‑cruise cleaning, airport‑yacht transfers, fuel for a standard route and the use of a wide range of water‑sports toys such as jet skis, stand‑up paddleboards, seabob, inflatable sea‑pool and trampoline, banana and other towables, snorkelling gear and basic fishing equipment. Exact inclusions can vary by offer and season, so always check your quote.

Extras covered via APA. Some charter listings show a compulsory 10% APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) for Alice. This allowance is normally used to cover variable extras such as freshly made juices and smoothies, alcoholic beverages from the bar, spa and massage treatments, and any special provisioning, route‑related fuel surcharges or local island fees that are not already bundled into the base rate. The detailed list of items that draw from the APA, together with how reconciliation and any refund or top‑up are handled, is explained in your booking documents.

Other optional services. The yacht promotes honeymoon and celebration cruises, romantic sandbank dinners with fire show, family and friends’ holidays and corporate events. These kinds of tailor‑made arrangements, along with any professional photo or video packages, certain diving courses or certifications and premium‑brand beverages, are usually organised on request and priced as optional extras. If a particular experience is important to you, ask your broker to confirm in writing whether it is included in your chosen package or will be quoted separately.

You need to know

Arrival & transfers. The Alice team notes that they normally meet guests on arrival at Malé (Velana) International Airport and escort them by boat (dhoni or speedboat) directly to the yacht. On request, pick‑up can often be arranged from selected resorts or local islands instead of from the airport. Your exact meeting time, pick‑up point and transfer method will be confirmed in your charter documents, so please follow the latest instructions from your broker or Alice’s operations team.

Itineraries & cruise length. Alice operates as a private charter yacht rather than a fixed‑schedule ferry. The yacht commonly runs multi‑day cruises in the central atolls with a typical “standard route” of about 7–8 days, while shorter three‑night and longer or more specialised itineraries (for example Deep South or shark‑focused routes) may be available for repeat guests or special charters. The final route always depends on weather, sea conditions and the captain’s safety decisions, so individual dive and snorkelling sites can change, even after a provisional plan has been shared.

Diving & health. Guided diving with general equipment is highlighted as part of the Alice experience, and the yacht notes that older children and teens can also join in. Standard certification, health and experience requirements will still apply in line with the onboard instructor’s judgment and Maldivian dive‑safety rules. If you are not yet certified, training and PADI certification can usually be organised on request, subject to medical fitness, schedule, instructor availability and any additional course fees.

Entry formalities (Maldives). For most nationalities the Maldives offer a visa‑on‑arrival for leisure stays, but all foreign visitors are currently required to complete the free online Traveller Declaration via the official IMUGA system within 96 hours before their flight arrives in the Maldives. Since mid‑2024, this declaration is no longer required on departure, but arrival rules, health documentation and advance‑registration systems can change. Always check the latest guidance from Maldives Immigration, your airline and your government’s travel advice before your trip.

We should mention

Concept & atmosphere. Alice is positioned more as a small private boutique hotel at sea than as a traditional shared‑cabin dive boat. The yacht offers nine individually designed cabins, several indoor and outdoor lounges and four decks, making it suitable for full‑boat charters with couples, families or groups of friends who want to explore multiple atolls together instead of staying at a single resort.

Water‑based environment. As with any yacht, much of life on Alice takes place on open decks, swim platforms and tenders. Surfaces may be wet and can move with the swell, and there are staircases and railings between decks. Children, non‑swimmers and anyone with reduced mobility will need close supervision, especially around railings, ladders, the sea‑pool and when using jet skis or other water‑sports equipment. Life jackets, safety briefings and crew instructions are there for your protection – please follow them carefully.

Alcohol & local rules. Maldives law prohibits tourists from importing their own alcoholic drinks, but licensed tourist vessels such as Alice are permitted to serve alcohol on board. The yacht emphasises its curated bar and cocktail menu; alcoholic beverages are normally charged separately, often via your APA or according to the bar list. Do not pack alcohol in your luggage for arrival – bottles can be confiscated by customs – and remember that public intoxication on local islands is not acceptable.

Booking channel. The official Alice website lists a general manager but directs guests to work with their preferred broker for quotations and reservations. In practice, most cruises are sold as full‑yacht charters through specialised yacht‑charter agencies and tour operators. Because inclusions, cancellation policies and payment terms can differ between brokers, always check that your contract clearly states the yacht name, dates, itinerary expectations, what is included, what is excluded and how any changes are handled.
