Reservation
Reservation & payment policy: All reservations at Veligandu Maldives Resort Island must be guaranteed by a valid credit card or by prepayment through the resort or your travel partner. At check-in, the resort will charge the remaining balance for your stay or place a pre-authorisation hold on the card presented to cover accommodation, taxes and a security deposit for incidentals.
Depending on the offer booked, part or all of the stay may be charged in advance. Non-refundable, advance purchase, festive and special package offers typically require full prepayment at the time of booking and do not allow free cancellation or date changes. For flexible rates, payment is usually taken at the resort, but your card may be validated or pre-authorised before arrival in accordance with the terms on your confirmation.
Guests are required to present the same physical credit card used to guarantee or pay for the reservation together with matching photo identification. If the original cardholder is not travelling, or if a different card is presented, the resort or your travel partner may request a third-party authorisation form in advance or take a new payment on arrival.
Room rates are quoted per villa per night and are subject to service charges, Green Tax and any applicable government taxes. Transfers, gala dinners, excursions and à la carte services are charged separately unless clearly included in your package. The detailed reservation, payment and cancellation terms shown at the time of booking, and printed on your voucher or confirmation letter, will always take precedence over this general overview.
Cancellation
Cancellation and prepayment conditions depend on the room type, season and offer booked. Flexible rates can usually be changed or cancelled up to a stated deadline before arrival without a fee, while advance purchase and promotional offers are often non-refundable and require full prepayment at the time of booking.
For many tour operator and contracted packages, a sliding scale applies, for example a fee of 50% of the total stay if cancelled within 14 days of arrival and 100% if cancelled within 10 days, in case of no-show or early departure. Exact deadlines, percentages and fees may differ between contracts and are confirmed on your voucher or booking confirmation.
Festive periods, public holidays and other peak dates may be subject to stricter conditions and mandatory supplements such as gala dinners. Always refer to the specific cancellation and payment terms displayed with your chosen rate and printed on your confirmation; those detailed terms override this general summary.
Children and extra beds
Children and extra beds: Veligandu Maldives Resort Island welcomes guests of all ages. For pricing purposes, children aged 12 years and above are generally treated as adults.
Most villas are designed for two adults, with the possibility in selected categories to add a baby cot for an infant or an extra bed for a child or third adult, subject to the maximum occupancy of the villa, availability and an additional nightly supplement. Cots and extra beds must be requested in advance and confirmed by the resort.
Shared seaplane transfers, extra guests and some special meals or festive events carry separate child and adult rates. These supplements are usually not included in the basic room price and will be charged in addition according to the conditions of your booking confirmation or travel contract.

Special check-in instructions
Transfers to Veligandu Maldives Resort Island are arranged by the resort or your travel partner by shared seaplane or speedboat from Velana International Airport in Malé. Transfers cannot be booked directly with the seaplane operator.
Seaplane flights operate during daylight hours only, typically between 06:00 and 18:00, and the flight time from the seaplane terminal to Veligandu is about 20 minutes. After clearing Immigration and Customs, guests should proceed to the Crown & Champa Resorts (CCR) counter B9 in the arrivals hall, where the airport team will assist with check-in and the short shuttle ride to the seaplane terminal.
To secure your transfer, the resort must receive your full international flight details at least 72 hours before arrival. If your international flight arrives late in the afternoon or departs very early in the morning, an overnight stay in Malé or near the airport may be required because seaplanes do not operate at night and the last flights leave the resort in the late afternoon.
Transfer charges (including any child supplements, baggage surcharges, fuel surcharges or taxes) are not included in the room rate unless specifically stated and will be invoiced separately. Exact operating hours, luggage allowances, prices and inclusions are subject to change; the details shown on your quotation and confirmation letter always prevail.
Important information
Fees
Tourism Green Tax of USD 12.00 per person, per night is imposed by Maldivian regulation and is charged in addition to the villa rate; this city tax generally does not apply to children under 2 years of age.
Most prices at the resort, including villa rates, meals, transfers and on-island purchases, are subject to a compulsory 10% service charge plus Tourism Goods and Services Tax of around 16%, so the final amount you pay will usually be higher than the base rate shown before taxes and charges.
Roundtrip seaplane transfers between Malé (Velana International Airport) and Veligandu Maldives Resort Island are compulsory for overnight guests, with recent partner information indicating an example floatplane transfer fee of about USD 390 per adult for a return journey; children are typically charged at discounted rates depending on their age band, as set by the resort.
For stays including 24 December (Christmas Eve), a mandatory Christmas Eve gala dinner supplement is charged, with current guidance from online travel agencies indicating approximate amounts of USD 260.00 per adult and USD 130.00 per child for this event.
For stays including 31 December (New Year’s Eve), a mandatory New Year’s Eve gala dinner supplement is also charged, with current guidance indicating approximate amounts of USD 310.00 per adult and USD 155.00 per child.
All mandatory charges, including green tax, service charge, Goods and Services Tax, compulsory transfer fees and festive gala dinner supplements, are payable directly at the resort and may be revised by the property or authorities without prior notice, so the details on your final confirmation should always be treated as the most up-to-date information.
Optional extras
Optional extras such as à la carte dining, specialty or private dinners, premium or imported beverages, champagne, selected wines and minibar items are usually not included in basic meal plans and are charged separately according to consumption.
Spa treatments, massage rituals, wellness programmes, yoga or fitness classes beyond standard access and use of certain spa facilities are charged per treatment, per session or per package unless clearly stated as part of your offer.
Motorised water sports, diving excursions, snorkelling trips, sunset or dolphin cruises, sandbank picnics and other curated experiences are available at additional cost, with pricing varying by duration, equipment and the number of guests.
Shared seaplane transfers are treated as compulsory as described under mandatory fees, and guests wishing to explore private transfer options, charter flights or other bespoke arrival and departure arrangements can usually do so for an added charge set by the resort and its aviation partners.
Extra-person surcharges may apply when the number of occupants exceeds the standard occupancy of the selected villa; baby cots are often provided free of charge on request, but rollaway or extra beds for older children or additional adults commonly attract nightly supplements that change by season.
Early check-in and late check-out, where available, may involve additional fees and are always subject to the resort’s occupancy on the day, even if these arrangements have been requested in advance.
You need to know
Extra-person charges can apply at this resort and may vary according to the villa category, meal plan, dates of stay and the ages of additional guests staying in the same accommodation.
At check-in, guests are typically required to present a government-issued photo ID together with a valid credit card, debit card or suitable cash deposit; the resort may pre-authorise a specific amount on the card to secure payment for incidentals during the stay.
The payment card used at the property is normally expected to belong to the main guest named on the reservation, particularly for bookings made through online travel agencies or package tour operators.
Standard check-in time is usually from around 14:00 and check-out time is generally by 12:00 noon; early check-in or late check-out can sometimes be arranged but remain subject to availability and may be charged.
The resort is reached by pre-arranged domestic transfers, primarily seaplane, and guests are required to share their international flight details in advance so that transfer arrangements can be confirmed within the operating hours of the seaplane services.
Children are welcome at Veligandu Maldives Resort Island, but age-related rules may apply for certain villa types, overwater accommodation, use of private pools and participation in selected activities, so families should always review the child policy linked to their chosen room and rate plan.
Special requests such as particular villa locations, specific bedding configurations, connecting or adjacent villas, early arrivals, late departures or special celebration setups are subject to availability on arrival, cannot be guaranteed in advance and may involve extra charges.
We should mention
Pets and service animals are not allowed at this resort according to current partner and property policies, so guests planning to travel with animals will need to consider alternative accommodation options.
Only registered guests are generally permitted to use villa accommodation and many resort facilities; day visitors or external guests must be arranged directly with the property in advance and may be subject to additional conditions or fees.
Reservations are recommended for massage services, spa treatments, certain dining experiences and popular excursions, especially during festive seasons and other busy periods, to secure preferred times and venues.
Seaplane transfers and many marine or outdoor activities are weather dependent, and schedules may be delayed, brought forward or cancelled at short notice in accordance with local safety regulations and the operational requirements of the resort and its partners.
Supplements for the compulsory Christmas Eve gala dinner and New Year’s Eve gala dinner apply to guests staying over those dates and will either be bundled into the total package price or listed as separate mandatory charges on your booking documentation.
All information regarding taxes, transfer arrangements, gala dinners, payment and cancellation rules, child policies and resort regulations is based on details supplied by Veligandu Maldives Resort Island and its booking partners and may change without prior notice; your confirmed booking conditions will always take precedence.
